Spout Bottom vs Closed Bottom Bulk Bags
Choose the bottom design around how you empty the bag. A closed bottom has no discharge outlet; a spout bottom has a tied outlet for controlled discharge through suitable equipment.

What is the difference?
-
Closed bottom: a solid base with no discharge spout. Check that your unloading method and handling equipment suit this construction.
-
Spout bottom: a fabric outlet at the base, tied closed for filling, storage and transport. Its diameter and length must suit the receiving equipment and material flow.

Which bottom suits your process?
A spout bottom suits operations that need to discharge into a compatible hopper or receiving system. A closed bottom suits processes that do not need a bottom outlet. Confirm the unloading method before ordering.
Top and bottom designs are separate choices: a spout top can be paired with either a closed bottom or a spout bottom.

What discharge spout size do I need?
Confirm the outlet diameter and length against your receiving equipment. Material flow also depends on particle size, bulk density and whether the contents bridge or compact. Check the specification of the exact product before ordering.

Check the complete unloading setup
-
Fit: match the discharge outlet to the receiving hopper and any connection or closure system.
-
Flow: tell us the material and how it behaves during discharge. Fine powders may need additional containment measures.
-
Handling: confirm compatible equipment, the bag’s safe working load and the handling instructions supplied for the product.
Never stand beneath a suspended bag. Keep the outlet secured until the bag is positioned in the unloading system, and follow the bag and equipment instructions.
